Dr. Ifeyinwa Kanu holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering with research interest in the use of Artificial Intelligence and Omics analysis to optimise Anaerobic processes.
She have established a solid and progressive experience in water, wastewater and waste to bioresources and filed patents on novel anaerobic processes.
As the Founder and CEO of IntelliDigest Ltd, she is leading IntelliDigest on a mission to empower global food sustainability, eliminate food waste, zero hunger and improve access to nutrition for everyone through technology innovation and capacity building.
In technology innovation, IntelliDigest Ltd is applying cutting edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Enzyme Engineering, green chemistry, blockchain and quantum computing to make the food system more sustainable by eliminating edible food waste and converting inedible food waste at the earliest possible time to bio-nutrients and sustainable chemicals for the food system.
In capacity building, we are developing Food Industry Sustainability Index to help businesses in the food sector set a baseline as we transition to a more sustainable economy with a focus on the key pillars of sustainability – Peace, Partnership, People, Planet and Prosperity. The Plan to Save campaign is driving change in consumer behaviour towards food and impact on our health and environment. The Agrifood TechPreneur Club is enabling more young people to lead the transition to a more sustainable food system through access to capacity building (Entrepreneurial and relevant skill) and finance.
Dr. Kanu was nominated top 50 women in Engineering under 35 in UK in 2017 and engages in public speaking
She is a winner of several awards: European Institute of Innovation (EIT) Food Accelerator Network, Telefonica/Wayra/University of Edinburgh AI/Blockchain Accelerator, Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship, Royal Society of Edinburgh SE Enterprise Fellowship, etc.
As a WES Council member, she led the organisation of an outstanding event in 2019- Centenary Celebration of Women in Engineering.
Overall, she is skilled and efficient in structuring, leading and implementing projects by developing vision, operational efficiency, sales strategy, and building relevant network to ensure success.

Cheryl Ankrah-Newton is an entrepreneur, accomplished business development professional, and the CEO and Co-Founder of Illuminate Africa Group. An entity that holds shares provides advisory and invests in various platforms across Africa, including traditional retail and hospitality as well as e-commerce and online ventures. She is an active and vibrant individual with a charming and enigmatic personality that helps her captivate and inspire her colleagues and clientele. Cheryl holds a BSc with Honours in Urban Estate Management and she is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, both of which have allowed her a diverse experience in the property business. Cheryl has almost two decades of experience in the property business in European and African markets. Furthermore, she has held senior positions for leading Global property companies, including Hammerson plc, Land Securities plc & Jones Lang LaSalle, which proves her capabilities and success in property work.
In a decorated professional career and further to Co-founding Illuminate Africa Group nearly a decade ago, Cheryl has successfully connected with institutions, entrepreneurs, NGOs, and Start-Ups to develop business, drive value, impact change and focus on transforming lives. She has managed numerous projects of great significance with solid leadership, intense coordination, and negotiation skills. Cheryl has administered in multiple organisations in various capacities and accumulated extensive experience and expertise in organisational structures, leadership management, project management, e-commerce, and retail & hospitality ventures, with an elevated level of technical and commercial understanding demonstrated by an outstanding record of achievements.

Cheryl is also the owner of a personal cashew farming project in rural Ghana which has been in operation for over a decade and currently provides work and income to local villagers.
